International Animal Rights Day - 10 December '07. A demonstration was held outside Wickham labs to coincide with international animal rights day as this laboratory use mice, rats and guinea-pigs in their tests, of which there are alternatives but Wickham labs still live in the dark-age.

With reference to the planning application which was submitted by Wickham labs to build a 2.7m fence around the boundaries of Torbay Farm, Lower Upham, it is understood that Wickham labs has withdrawn their request. What next!!

Demonstrations continue at Wickham labs and Torbay Farm, the proposed new site for Wickham labs, and it has been noted that Wickham labs has forwarded a planning application to build a security fence around Torbay Farm at a height of 2.7m. The fence is to be made of galvanised metal with spikes on top, similar to that at Wickham labs, of which the decision date is the 5 December, 07 - watch this space. What next - security lighting?

A candle-lit demonstration was held at Torbay Farm, Lower Upham in Hampshire on Monday evening to highlight the issue that Wickham laboratory can relocate its laboratory to premises which once housed chickens, after a high court ruling stated that the property could be used for research and development, despite the fact that the council had appealed.

An animal testing lab has won its bid to build a controversial research facility. Wickham Laboratories has been given the go-ahead from the High Court to redevelop Torbay Farm, in Lower Upham.

The national demonstration against Wickham laboratory was held on Saturday 15 September '07, of which a very good turn out was received. Prior to the main demo, activist with placards placed themselves in various positions along the main roads into Wickham to advertise that Wickham village housed an animal laboratory.

SWAT continues to demonstrate against Wickham Laboratories on a weekly basis, and this weeks demo took place, early evening, at Torbay Farm, Lower Upton in Hampshire which is the proposed site for the new laboratory to be built, of which planning approval needs to be required.

"A Halstead farmer has appeared in court on six charges of animal cruelty.
Craig Sargent, 45, of Clarks Lane, is accused of causing unnecessary suffering to animals by failing to adequately tend to them and also for breaching the Welfare of Farm Animals regulations (2000).
